Matelot performs authorial songs based on celtic follk, increasingly popular nowadays. However we use that in little traditional, but rather modern way. Synthesizer's pads or bass guitar's slap style gives original backgrond to natural sound of Scottish bagpipes or Irish flute. As a result we can hear very varied and expressive fusion of celtic folk, rock, funk and even disco.

10th of May 2008 was the release date of our first album: "...the best off". The publication which is summary of our activity in sea-folk mainstream is also the announce of new ideas which we are going to put into effect. You can find there songs known from concerts and demo album as well as 9 premiere tracks with definite folk-rock sound. Beside common instruments like bass guitar, drums, electric guitar and synthesizers you can notice sounds of typical folk instruments like: Scottish bagpipes, Spain bagpipes, Irish flutes, banjo and button accordion. Our music is our best description.
